Sartuul sheep's wool, with its incomparable softness, comes from a breed of sheep with an exceptionally soft, cashmere-like undercoat, raised in the Zavhkan province.
These sheep have been herded for centuries in Mongolia, alongside other animals. Nomadic herders select the finest fibers, which are washed and carded before being hand-spun by women in Nepal. The yarn is then hand-spun by skilled spinners and hand-dyed by skilled dyers.
